What is included in the price?

Is the villa self catering?
Yes. Food is not included in the rental, however we can provide the first night’s meal and a daily continental breakfast if required. You will find a fully equipped kitchen in the villa. An in house chef is available at an additional charge (24 hours notice required).Sample menu
We provide all guests with drinking water, tea, coffee, milk and sugar.
Is tap water safe to drink?
The tap water is good for everything except drinking. Hibiscus Villa provides unlimited bottled drinking water for your consumption.
Is the maid service included in the villa rental price?
Our rental price includes a full maid servicefrom 8am to 8pm, to include daily bed making, cleaning and turn down service.
Is the laundry maid service included in the villa rental price?
Yes this is fully inclusive through our in-house laundry service.
Is the villa equipped with air-conditioning?
There is air conditioning in the bedrooms and downstairs living and dining area. As an eco-friendly villa the property has been designed for maximum air flow, all rooms have ceiling fans and a natural breeze.
Is there mobile phone reception at the villa?
No but within a short walk there is reception available.
Can I make international calls from the landline phone in the villa?
We will supply an IDD card for your use. Once the credit provided has been used you may purchase further IDD cards from us. Malaysian calls are free of charge.
Is Wi-Fi available?
No. Due to the villa’s remote location broadband is not yet available in the immediate area. There are however numerous outlets offering wi-fi and internet cafes in Kudat. Hibiscus Villa has dial-up internet connection which you may use free of charge.
What is the beach like?
The beach is a long stretch of gold sand in both directions and with hardly a soul on it; it feels like your own private beach. From here, you can walk to neighbouring beaches, with a little scramble over the rocks. The gazebo located at the end of Hibiscus Villa’s gardens is the perfect relaxation point, overlooking the beautiful beach below.
How close is the beach?
Just a short 5 minute walk on a path winding through the tropical gardens leads you directly to the beach.
Do we need to bring beach towels with us?
No. We provide pool towels, however we ask you not to take them to the beach. Please use the beach towels provided.
What facilities are available for children?
Children enjoy the abundance of space – in the villa, on the beach, in the villa’s gardens and in the swimming pool that is safely treated and gentle on the eyes and skin. A cot and high chair are available for babies and young children upon request. Please communicate your needs at time of booking.
What plugs and adaptors are available, and what is the voltage?
Malaysia’s voltage is 240 volts, 50 Hertz. In Malaysia, the outlets commonly accept 1 type of plug, the one having two parallel flat pins with ground pin. If your device's plug has a different shape, then you would require a plug adapter.
What is there to do in the local area?
Activities in the local area includes: snorkelling, hiking, boat trips, fishing and enjoying the numerous beaches. You can read more on our Things to Do page.
Where can I do grocery shopping?
There are numerous shops in Kudat, which is about 20 minutes drive from the villa. You will also find some small local shops en-route. We can offer a shopping service to ensure essential items are in the fridge for your arrival.

Are there restaurants near by?
There are several restaurants in Kudat and at the nearby Tip of Borneo. Alternatively we are able to offer an in house chef if required, at extra cost. Sample menu.
Is there a minimum stay?
The minimum stay is 3 nights.
