As the photos and the reviews all promised, this really is paradise on earth. My Dad and I had a great week relaxing here and exploring the surroundings. Best of all, when we came in October it was really quiet – most of the time we had the whole beach completely to ourselves which was wonderful. James is one of the best hosts I’ve encountered on hear, patiently and quickly responding to the many questions I had (the roads all the way here from KK are very good and driving is easy and safe).

We rented the wonderful Hibiscus to celebrate a birthday – it was perfect. There was rain and sunshine and the house was perfect for both. The pool is a delight and the bedrooms luxurious.

We have just got back from a 10 day stay at the lovely Hibiscus villa with our 5 children and can’t rate it highly enough. Having spent 4 nights in the jungle at Sandakan, we were looking forward to some down time. The villa is lovely and well worth the drive from Kota Kinabalu airport (approx 3 hours).

Such a quaint little beach villa! We loved waking up to the view of waves crashing right outside your door. Had everything you could need to spend a week here relaxing. The perfect relaxation accommodation.

Stayed in Hibiscus Villa with ours and one other family (8 people). It is a beautiful and secluded location just near the tip of Borneo. The house is massive with plenty of places to sit and relax. There is no phone or Internet reception in the house and I personally found that fantastic (you could get reception close by if required). The staff do a great job and aren’t intrusive at all. We got Chef J in on 2 occasions but there are also good places to eat nearby as well. You can be as adventurous as you like or just sit around and relax. This is a fantastic place to recharge your batteries!

Beautiful hidden gem in Kudat! The views and private beach were amazing. James and the guys at Hibiscus Villa were very helpful! It’s such a shame our visit was dampened by the rainy weather (we’re already planning our next trip when the sun is shining!) Thanks guys for such a memorable stay! We’ll miss falling asleep to the sound of the waves right on our doorstep.

We came to the villa for 5 nights in August and could have stayed for longer. The standard of the accommodation is exceptional, amazingly well appointed, like a 5* hotel. The maids are amazing and cooked a great breakfast. We used the private chef Jay every day, 4 nights and one lunch and he cooked us some awesome dishes- well worth it.

Our family of five arrived after driving up from KK. Despite lacking GPS and maps we found the place quite easy. The place is just absolutely stunning – the view from the pool, the interior of the house, the beach – just about everything was perfect. We were fortunate enough to experience blue skies and sunny days during our entire stay.

The villa is amazing, spacious, well designed and cozy. The T-shaped swimming pool is fantastic with good views and the mild sea breeze makes us stay comfortably. Though there are some insects inside the villa, they didn’t bring us much trouble. The maids clean the villa daily which makes it clean and hygienic. James is very helpful as we got lost near to the tip of Borneo and he came in person to bring us to the villa. With a great welcome from James doggy, puppy, we started the stay here. Chef J cooked for us for 2 nights, the food is fantastic, fresh and delicious. The scenery nearby is fabulous. We definitely will recommend our friends to stay here. Thanks James and Joe for your great hospitality.
